Creative Non-Fiction

About this page

This page consists of my first creative non-fiction essay for my FIQWS composition class. We were assigned to write an essay that revolves around our identity and how the media contributes to our identity. I wrote about how the environment, my friends and my education has both a positive and negative impact on my identity. Initially, I started off naming general ideas of identity and I didn’t get into depth on how certain aspects of my life impact me as a person and how it makes me who I am today.

Which let to her feeling pity and shame because she allowed the media to think for her and create a form of judgement on a specific group of individuals. The author then proceeded on using repetition of the phrase “what if”. I agree with her because what if we didn’t let the internet dictate the real from the fake
